American Idol and X factor vs. Your Idol
By Elliot Kay
I find inspiration for my blogs in the strangest places. I was eating my dinner with X – Factor on, it’s the UK version of American Idol, and guess what? I watched Simon Cowell destroy dream after dream, person after person.
I have huge amount of respect for Simon and think that he is a great source of inspiration for anyone and proof that when you dream it you can begin it. He started from delivering letters and has made it to where he is now…
I watched person after person beg with their eyes for his approval. When he said “No” they were broken…Why? At the end of the day it is one person’s opinion, yes he can make things happen, but nothing can replace you making things happen for yourself, your own values and the values you place on yourself.
If Simon, or the likes of Simon in your life, doesn’t like you or see you as their future, do you throw in the towel? There are lots of avenues you can go down to achieve what you want in life, lots and lots and lots, I think you get the point…. Life doesn’t hang on one thing, and if you let it, that one thing will be gone before you know it, and you will end up achieving nothing! Edward Norton was told by every agent he went to see that he wouldn’t make it, did he just say ok? And give up? I think you know the answer to that. Where and what you achieve comes down to how much do you idolise yourself! Yes that right, waking up and thinking: “I am great! I am Brilliant! Amazing!” What you project is what the world will see, idolise yourself and everything will happen because you will make it happen, because you believe it will!
A quick update…
I have been busy designing and working on my images for my website, which will be launched by the end of the month!!!! Keep you eye out for it!
I also want to say thank you to everyone that has taken their time to leave me comments, keep them coming. We love them!
Till next time,
Elliot

For those of you that have not yet heard I’m very sorry to be the one to break the news… Heath Ledger passed today. He was scheduled for a massage this afternoon but when the housekeeper let the therapist into his room and they found him unconcious with a bottle of pills beside him.
I’m sure more details will be uncovered shortly. I’ll keep you updated.

OK, so quickly… I have a couple of new obsessions to share with you…
1- Victoria @ Juan Juan CENTER. Unbelievable at everything she does. I had a mini facial that completely transformed my stressed out skin in just a few days…. but possibly the best bet from her is going bald… no tears on her table!
2- Patty Bunya-Ananta, Hairstylist. She creates celebrity looks for the publicist budget. I found her through my best friend who has the most beautiful hair but it always is a struggle for her to find a stylist that understands the way her hair grows. I have had similar struggles but luckily now we have Patty
Her direct email is: glamorouspattyb@yahoo.com She books up fast but tell her how you found her and she’ll most likely be able to squeeze you in ;)

Hello, I’m back! I am so lucky – The Master loves me enough to deal with his least favorite country in the world in order to make me happy. I just spent the most amazing new year in PARIS! I’m still in recovery mode but I promise to get back on the ball so I can give you something more than the Britney Gossip you’ve been force fed for the last week.
Till then…
xoxo

How many times have you sat back and thought, if I only I had done that? How many times have you gone to see a friend or family and suddenly they look bigger and have a story to tell? And the story is months old? Why is it we suddenly look back and think, wow, where has time gone?
It’s about choices we make, and for me recently nothing captures it better than the film Click by Adam Sandler. It would be great to have a remote to pause and vent our frustration in a “funny” way, or to skip a few days ahead, sadly I feel a lot of us are doing that already in many different ways.
It isn’t easy to fit everything in, however we make a choice to skip so many things, not just our families but seeing friends, and spending time with anyone that is close to our hearts. We might not have a physical remote to control, but we do have our inner remote, which no one can control; except us! Take a long look back and think, when is the last time you pressed pause to spend time with a loved one or a relative? Refused to forgive someone because of your own stubbornness? When is the last time you put work first and put everything else on pause? Notice the emphasis here is on you.
I think you know where this is going…as I always say, life will always be there but the people that we hold dear to our hearts might not. Then what? You may wish you could press rewind so you can go back an do things differently…that’s the difference between the film Click and real life, he got a second chance…we don’t always, unless we make one for ourselves!!! Don’t wait for tomorrow, now will do.
